Overview

 

We are seeking a Bim Manger to join our Data Centre team in Norway.

The BIM Manager oversees the implementation of the Digital Project Delivery (DPD) strategy across projects within the nominated business unit. This role provides technical leadership, guidance and support to project teams, ensuring effective delivery of BIM processes from pre-contract through to project handover.  

 

The BIM Manager ensures compliance with company-wide BIM standards, coordinates multi-disciplinary design models and drives innovation in digital construction workflows.  

Responsibilities

Pre-Contract Stage 

  • Review tender documents (Works Information, EIR, etc.) to identify client BIM and digital requirements. 

  • Attend tender kick-off meetings to discuss DPD scenarios and proposed digital strategies. 

  • Support development of Precontract BIM Execution Plans (BEP). 

  • Ensure consultants and specialist designers are fully aware of DPD responsibilities. 

  • Populate and score Supply Chain Digital Capability (SCDC) assessments. 

  • Provide technical review of 3D BIM models for federation, clash detection, logistics and cost management. 

  • Assist with developing 4D BIM construction sequencing. 

  • Support bidding teams with BIM/digital enquiries for quality submissions. 

  • Ensure consultants’ and specialist designers’ fees for DPD are included in Prelims.  

 

Business-wide Responsibilities 

  • Deploy and score SCDC assessments for all consultants and specialist designers. 

  • Handover agreed DPD strategy to project team at tender handover meetings. 

  • Ensure project BEP, MIDP, MPDT, CDE protocols and Design Responsibility Matrix are fully implemented.  

 

Project Delivery Stage 

  • Lead BIM kick-off meetings with consultants and specialist designers. 

  • Lead DPD kick-off meetings with senior project management teams to finalise strategy. 

  • Setup and manage BIMCollab for clash and issue management, ensuring protocol compliance. 

  • Monitor project DPD strategy implementation, identifying gaps and corrective actions. 

  • Explore and evaluate emerging digital construction technologies. 

  • Provide hands-on training and upskilling sessions for project teams. 

  • Support BIM Lead with audits, lessons learned capture and best practice sharing. 

  • Support 4D BIM development for planning and logistics integration where required.  

Experience

Digital Tools & Technical Knowledge 

  • Autodesk Revit: Advanced knowledge in developing, editing and publishing 3D BIM models. 

  • Autodesk Navisworks: Expert in NWD file production for navigation, clash detection and model validation. 

  • BIMCollab: Advanced usage for clash and issue management. 

  • Synchro: Knowledge of 4D BIM coordination desirable. 

  • Information Management: Expertise in CDE platforms such as Viewpoint for Projects (VFP), Autodesk 360 or equivalent.  

 

  Essential 

  • Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary BIM workflows and DPD implementation. 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience on multi-disciplinary projects implementing BIM Level 2 standards. 

 

Desirable 

  • Strong supervisory organisational and leadership skills. 

  • Ability to work across multi-disciplinary, complex project environments. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with pre-contract, operational teams and supply chain partners. 

  • Excellent reporting, presentation and public speaking skills. 

  • Self-motivated with ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively. 

  • Deliver workshop-based and hands-on training to project teams. 

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree qualified in Construction, Engineering, Computing, Architecture or related discipline.  

Desirable

  • Strong understanding of ISO 19650, BS 1192 and PAS 1192 standards. 

  • Full membership of relevant professional institution desirable.
