We are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist proficient in UK and ROI payrolls who will be responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for employees across the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. You will play a key role in ensuring payroll compliance, maintaining data accuracy, and responding to employee queries. Working closely with internal teams and clients, you will contribute to delivering a high-quality payroll service while continuously developing your knowledge of UK and ROI payroll legislation.

This role requires strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage payroll activities within deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of additional European payrolls is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

  • Process payroll for UK and ROI employees, supporting end-to-end payroll cycles
  • Input, validate, and reconcile payroll data accurately and efficiently
  • Assist with manual calculations where required
  • Process payroll components including salaries, overtime, bonuses, and statutory payments
  • Support BACS file preparation and payroll reporting
  • Ensure payroll activities comply with UK and ROI tax legislation, auto-enrolment, and statutory obligations

Benefits Administration

  • Process pension contributions and statutory deductions
  • Administer employee benefits in line with company policies
  • Respond to payroll and benefits-related queries, escalating complex issues where necessary

Systems and Technology

  • Use payroll systems to manage employee data and payroll processing
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within payroll systems
  • Support the implementation of system enhancements and process improvements
  • Collaborate with internal support teams on system updates


Audit and Compliance

  • Assist in payroll audits and internal checks
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection standards
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll and employee information


Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with Payroll, HR, and Finance teams to resolve payroll queries
  • Provide support during payroll cycles and critical deadlines
  • Contribute to improving payroll processes and efficiency
  • Share knowledge and support less experienced team members where required

Experience

• Proven in-house experience in payroll processing, within UK or ROI payroll
• Experience supporting end-to-end payroll processing
• Working knowledge of UK and/or ROI payroll legislation
• Experience using Coins payroll system - desirable

• Strong Microsoft Excel and general system skills

Qualifications

• Payroll qualification IPASS or CIPP certified

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in spoken and written English
