We are seeking a proactive and motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our growing project delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious construction professional to play a key role in the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of high-quality projects in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with Project Managers and site teams, you will support all phases of project execution, helping to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will be passionate about driving excellence, building strong stakeholder relationships, and championing our commitment to Zero Harm, Zero Defects, and continuous improvement across every aspect of project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all reporting systems, team meetings and package management.
  • Provide assistance to the Project Manager to ensure the successful execution of design and construction projects.
  • Act as a role model to project staff and operatives leading by example.
  • Active involvement in HSEQS management on our projects and challenge working practices on site and across our business to ensure continuous improvement in line with our Zero philosophy.
  • Align with and adhere to our protocols, practices and procedures and communicate the importance of site team discipline around the same.
  • Assist with the effective management of our project delivery teams, effectively managing risk and ensuring consistency with both our client and our expectations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of robust Project Execution Plans for
    our projects.
  • Consistently communicate and enforce our commitment to Zero Defect and Zero Snags.
  • Seek to develop multiple-stakeholder relationships with clients, consultant and suppliers.
  • Be a willing figurehead for Vision Built and assist with clear and accurate communication for a project both internally and externally.
  • Assist with the Implementation of the HSEQS plan on site and maintain project standards in line with our procedures by communicating with and managing others in the project team.
  • Review and approve RAMS with the support of the Project Manager.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are in place and that all activities are coordinated within the workplace.
  • Assist with the monitoring of performance and progress against the Project Execution.
  • Plan and take appropriate action to ensure the success of the project.
  • Assist with the implementation of the Quality Plan by coordinating Package Owners to ensure all necessary deliverables are allocated and understood and that interfaces are appropriately coordinated.
  • Plan close out of works and allocate resources accordingly in accordance with the handover strategy and contract programme.
  • Ensure ITP’s are fully implemented by Package Owners and that the appropriate hold points have been identified.
  • Lead the way in communicating to the project team and raising NCR’s when works are not delivered to the appropriate standards.
  • Assist the project team in the procurement process and ensure trade contractors are correctly briefed and understand our project requirements through prestart meetings, etc.

Experience

  • Project delivery experience having worked for two to three years in either an operational, planning or engineering role
  • Experience or a number of forms of contract /sectors
  • Understands safety implications when designing and planning a project and seeks to reduce risk at all times
  • Knowledge of the supply chain and establishing working relationships over more than one project
  • Experience of and fully able to implement our standards and procedures
  • Understanding of material performance and selects accordingly with Zero Defects in mind
  • Ability to measure productivity and suggest improvement
  • Ability to identify and suggest alternative work methods to improve safety, quality and productivity
  • A working knowledge of a great RAMS and have the ability to observe change management that could Impact on HSEQS outcomes
  • Effective communicator with the consultants, project team and supply chain
  • Efficient in their work practices and is always seeking to reduce waste and continually improve

Qualifications

Required

  • Working to become chartered with relevant body such as CIOB / CPEng / MICE
  • CSCS for Managers, SMSTS, DM/PSCS Awareness, BBS, Root Cause Analysis & S5 & Q10 internal workshops
  • Lifting operation basic awareness
  • BIM fundamentals

 

Desirable

  • Diploma in Building & Construction
  • Degree or equivalent qualification preferably in Construction/ Engineering
