Support the commercial team in day-to-day duties.
Assist with the preparation of tenders including measurement, packaging and analysis.
Assist with variations, valuations and final accounts under supervision.
Prepare subcontractor valuations and final accounts with guidance.
Carry out site measurement and maintain accurate records and control documents.
Monitor progress on site and report on commercial impacts.
Attend site and subcontractor meetings as required.
Contribute to cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and cash management under supervision.
Assist with the implementation of the commercial strategy.
Ensure risk and opportunity are considered during all commercial activities.
Act professionally at all times and support the commercial team in upholding company standards.
Gain experience in traditional contracts with some responsibility.
Gain exposure, without full responsibility, to subcontractor negotiations, contract law interpretation, and design and build contracts.
Essential
Ability to use Microsoft Office applications effectively.
Familiarity with the Standard Method of Measurement.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships.
Demonstrates commercial awareness and willingness to learn.
Desirable
Experience working on contracts over €5m or £15m.
Exposure to contracts over €15m or £15m.
Some knowledge of subcontractor negotiation and contract administration.
Essential
Degree in Quantity Surveying
Understanding of the Standard Method of Measurement (SMM).
Awareness of FIDIC forms of contract.
Desirable
Additional training or experience in NEC contract forms.
Involvement in industry placements or work experience.
